New York, NY - The Maazel/Vilar Conductors’ Competition is pleased to announce the 9 esteemed figures from the music world who will comprise the jury for the final round of the Competition at Carnegie Hall this September. Joining Competition founder Lorin Maazel, who will chair the jury, are:
· Kyung-Wha Chung, violinist (Korea)
· Glenn Dicterow, violinist & concertmaster, New York Philharmonic (United States)
· Yoichiro Omachi, conductor (Japan)
· Krzysztof Penderecki, composer/conductor (Poland)
· Janos Starker, cellist (Hungary/United States)
· Ian Stoutzker, chairman, London Symphony Orchestra advisory committee & chairman, Live Music Now Foundation (England)
· Etienne Vatelot, luthier (France)
· Marcello Viotti, conductor (Switzerland)
